Meet Ron

A fifth-generation Tennessean, Ron was born and raised in the Rossville/Collierville area of southwest Tennessee. He learned the meaning of a hard day's work at a young age and what Tennessee conservative values mean - preserving and protecting our God-given freedom.

As a graduate of Rossville Christian Academy and University of Tennessee Martin WestStar, Ron studied business at Liberty University. He started his career in the Rossville/Collierville area as an insurance agent - providing affordable personal and commercial insurance protection to West Tennesseans. He served as Vice President and then President of Insurance Associates of Tennessee Inc for 17 years. Ron is an active member of his community, serving as the Fayette County Republican Party's Chairman before being elected as a Fayette County Commissioner. He also served as Chairman of Rossville Christian Academy’s school board. In these positions, Ron is always looking to help elect conservative leaders and continues to work tirelessly to improve the quality of life of all Tennesseans. He is always looking to better his community as a local leader.

Ron felt called upon to serve his community in the Tennessee House of Representatives. Like many Tennesseans, Ron was inspired by Donald Trump’s campaign promises of putting America First, holding China accountable, building the wall at our southern border and strengthening our economy through job creation. In 2016, Ron was overwhelmingly elected to represent the 94th District in the Tennessee House of Representatives. Ron quickly earned his colleagues' trust. He was elected to serve as the Freshman Leader of his incoming class and the Majority Assistant Floor Leader in the 110th General Assembly.

More recently, Ron was elected to serve as the Majority Assistant Leader by his peers. In this position, Ron is responsible for guiding the Governor's conservative legislative agenda through the House of Representatives. Additionally, as a member of the House leadership team, Ron promotes and advocates for rural Tennesseans to ensure their voices are heard - growing our agriculture industry, improving access to health care, expanding access to broadband services and protecting our conservative values.

In the General Assembly, Ron is a member of the Finance, Ways, and Means Committee, Health Committee, Local Government Committee, Joint Fiscal Review Committee, Finance, Ways, and Means Subcommittee and the Cities and Counties Subcommittee. He is committed to ensuring Tennessee remains an economic leader in fiscal stability and creating jobs.

He is a member of First Baptist Church Fisherville, Somerville Rotary Club, Fayette and McNairy County Chambers of Commerce. Ron is an active outdoorsman and enjoys hunting and fishing and attending sporting events with his kids.
